Satin Sunburst Finish, Hardshell Case, Grover Tuners Allen Tailpiece Was $900 Now $800 Sold
This is a really sweet mandolin made in Oregon, USA by Breedlove. The OF is a Breedlove “A” style ovel-body mandolin with violin-style “F” soundholes, radiused fretboard, and tone-bar bracing. I bought it new in 2002 and am selling it now only because I’ve bought a new (actually, used--but new to me) Phoenix Neoclassical mandolin and need to thin the herd so I can:
1) help pay for the Phoenix, and 2) stay married.
The Breedlove OF Quartz with sunburst finish sells new for about $1,250 (check Musicians Friend or other online vendors).
This is in exellent condition and has the following upgrades I’ve added, which are not included in new models:
- Gold-plated Grover tuners with perloid buttons (the new factory model comes with Saga nickel-plated tuning machines--I’ll include the original nickel-plated tuners also).
- Allen cast-bronze gold-plated tailpiece (this is equivalant to the cast bronze tailpiece Breedlove uses on their more expensive mandolins.)
- Hardshell case (replaces the gig bag included with new OF Quartz models)
